Yemen Mocha

Exotic • Malty • Chocolate

Do not confuse Yemen Mocha with a traditional chocolate drink. These beans are dry processed, which means they are dried with the fruit still attached to the beans. This gives them a highly acidic note. We roast these a bit darker to tame the acidity and bring out the malty/chocolaty flavor profile.

Traditional Yemen Mocha comes from the central mountains of Yemen but gets its name from the ancient shipping port of Mocha, which has since been replaced by a more modern port.

  1. High quality!

Everytime i try coffee here, it’s the best coffee Ive ever had. Ive had Yemen Mocha coffee from various places, and this one is clearly above the rest. Worth the price all day. Going to have to try Henry’s Kona next time.

Wow! This is one of the best cups of coffee I have had. Used my Areopress to brew and the caffeine buzz is beyond any I have ever experienced Coff is so flavorful and robust—I went back and bought two more bags!!!!

  3. Hugely disappointing!

For the price of this coffee, it was an incredible, disappointing waste of money for the amount for 12 oz. Dry, tasteless beans. Another one down the drain.

  4. This is more like medium dark coffee

    funes.ronald (verified owner)

I was very impressed by this coffee when I bought it at gocoffeego. I decided to buy this coffee directly from the roaster, and this time the coffee does not taste the same. The coffee beans have darker appearance for a medium roast. I would buy this coffee again, but I would like the coffee to be medium roasted.

  5. It's alright

This is a little darker than the Yemen I have had in the past. The “malt” flavor is still present although a bit subdued. I would describe this as both chocolatey and malty. It makes for more interesting espresso than drip though. Overall though I think its a fair presentation of Yemen coffee.
